Ashok Dinda made his debut in international cricket in 2009 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He got a chance in the T20 International match against Sri Lanka. The very next year he also made his ODI debut. He played his first ODI match for Team India against Zimbabwe. However, he could never get a place in Test cricket. He played two formats for India, but after not being able to perform, he did not get many opportunities and was dropped from the team.
