Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has announced the replacement of injured Jamie Overton during IPL 2026. The franchise has made Dian Forrester its part. Dian is a pace bowling all-rounder coming from South Africa. He plays T20 International cricket for Africa.
25 year old Dian was signed by Chennai for a price of Rs 75 lakh. This update was given by IPL. The replacement was informed in a release.
Overton’s strong performance
Overton was seen performing brilliantly for Chennai with ball and bat in the season. He played 13 matches in the season. Bowling in 13 innings of these matches, he took 14 wickets at an average of 23.71, in which the best figure was 4/18. Economy was 9.76. While batting, Overton scored 136 runs in 8 innings at an average of 34, in which the high score was 43* runs.
IPL release for Overton’s replacement
“Diane Forrester has been named in place of the injured Jamie Overton,” the release read. The release further stated that Overton has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a right thigh injury. Chennai had also issued an update regarding Overton’s injury. However, it was not mentioned that Overton was out of the entire season. Now it has become clear.
