A report has claimed that Apple is busy testing an iPhone with a 7-inch screen. If this iPhone is launched, it could become the first phone to come with a 7-inch screen.
There will be no border on the display
According to Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, Apple is internally testing a larger display panel. Its size will be 6.96 inches, but it will be marketed as 7 inches. It has not yet been confirmed whether Apple will launch an iPhone with this panel or it is just a test project. Earlier leaks have claimed that Apple will launch new designed phones on the 20th anniversary of the iPhone. The company plans to launch an iPhone that looks like a piece of glass in the front. That means there will be neither bezels on it nor any cutout for the camera. This will be an edge-to-edge display, which will be curved on all four sides, which will give the look that there is no border on this screen. It was reported in Bloomberg’s report that Apple has accelerated work on the 2nd version of the iPhone to be released on the 20th anniversary. Apple is specially preparing a new display for this iPhone in collaboration with Samsung. It will be brighter and thinner than the existing panel.
Apple last increased the size of the iPhone in 2024
If Apple is bringing an iPhone with a 7 inch screen, then it is not going to be a huge upgrade. 17 Pro Max has a 6.9 inch display. In such a situation, the size of 20 Pro Max will not be very big, but the difference will be clearly visible. Apple had earlier increased the size of its devices during the iPhone 16 series in 2024. Then the Pro model was given an increased screen from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches and the Pro Max model was given an increased screen from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches.
