The same pattern was seen in brands like OnePlus, Samsung, Nothing and Lava.

Due to the increasing demand of AI data centers, the supply of memory used in smartphones was affected due to which the companies increased the prices of the devices. This trend seen in Samsung phones

Now if we talk about Samsung’s flagship smartphones, the same trend has been seen in it also. Let us tell you that the launch price of Galaxy S25 was Rs 80,999 whereas it was available in Flipkart GOAT Sale for Rs 56,999. The biggest discount was seen on Galaxy S25 Ultra. This phone was available on Amazon for Rs 84,999 compared to its launch price of Rs 1,29,999, which was an actual discount of about 34.6%.

According to TechArc, Samsung’s flagship S-series models received an average real discount of 24.7%. However, the same benefit was not seen in the budget phones of F-series and M-series where the increased cost was directly passed on to the users.

Less discounts on OnePlus models

For your information, let us tell you that this trend has also been seen in the new smartphones of OnePlus. Let us tell you that the 12+256GB variant of OnePlus 15R was introduced at the time of launch for Rs 47,999. Later its list price was increased to Rs 54,999. It was made available at Rs 48,999 after a bank discount of Rs 3,000 during the Amazon Prime Day sale.

Now if we compare it with the increased list price, it appears to be a discount of about 10.9%. But compared to the launch price, the customer still had to pay about 2.1% more. That means the apparent discount did not convert into real savings.
