MS Dhoni and Sourav Ganguly Ghost Stories: An anecdote related to many big names who have made their name in international cricket, which even today gives sleepless nights. Players like Sourav Ganguly, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Shane Watson had sensed someone's presence in the hotel room. The fear was such that I had to spend the night on the floor of my friend's room.

Do you believe in ghosts? There are many people in the world who believe in it while some do not believe in it. We are going to tell you about some star players who have made their mark in international cricket and who have realized the presence of ghosts. These names are not small but very big. The names of former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly and Mahendra Singh Dhoni come in this. The names of former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson and former England fast bowler Stuart Broad are also included.

In Ian Botham's book 'Beefy's Cricket Tales', Sourav Ganguly has mentioned a mysterious incident that happened to him during the England tour in 2002. Ganguly said, “We were in Durham for the match at Chester-le-Street and we were put up at Lumley Castle. It is a beautiful hotel and is close to the ground. Being the captain, I was given a wonderful suite, which had every facility. We finished the day's training, there was a match the next morning and I went to my room before dinner. On returning, I closed the curtains, switched off all the lights and went to bed.”

Ganguly said, “I woke up, switched on the light and went to turn off the water. But the taps were already closed. I thought maybe I dreamed or heard a sound from some other room. I checked everything again, everything was closed, and went to sleep again.” After about 30 minutes the same sound came again and Ganguly woke up again. When the same thing happened for the third time, Ganguly ran into his partner Robin Singh's room and slept on the floor, without telling anything to anyone.

Stuart Broad ran away from the room: In 2014, the England team was playing a Test series against Sri Lanka. Fast bowler Stuart Broad admitted to experiencing 'something strange' in his room at the Langham Hotel in London. In an interview given to Daily Mail, Broad had told, “It was so hot in the room that I was not able to sleep. Suddenly the taps in the bathroom started running on their own. When I switched on the light, the taps turned off on their own. Then when I switched off the light, the taps started running again. It was very strange. I was very scared. Ultimately I asked for a change of room.

In the beginning of 2015, Pakistan team toured New Zealand. Batsman Haris Sohail got fever due to fear in Rydges Latimer Hotel in Christchurch. In fact, the bed in his room started moving on its own. They felt that some supernatural power was doing this. According to The Guardian report, Sohail called a member of the coaching staff and decided to sleep in his coach's room that night. He was so scared by this incident that he could not even play the practice match against New Zealand President's XI.

In 2005, while staying with several of my colleagues at Lumley Castle (the same hotel where Ganguly had also heard the sound of the tap opening), I felt uneasy. It is said that former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson decided to leave his room and sleep on the floor of Brett Lee's room. Belinda Dennett, the Australian cricket team's media manager at the time, told The Sun what she saw that night.

India was on the tour of England under the captaincy of former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Arrangements were made for the team's stay at the Langham Hotel in London. When MS Dhoni was resting in his room, suddenly the door opened. He thought perhaps he might have forgotten to close it and it opened with a breeze. A similar incident happened again the next night. This time Dhoni had closed the door so he got quite scared. He asked the hotel staff to change his room and went and slept in his teammate's room.
