
Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has banned the sale of Gori Beauty Cream made in Pakistan, because toxic amounts of mercury were found in this cream in lab tests. The surprising thing was that there was no expiry date written on this cream, due to which questions were raised on its safety and compliance with the rules.

This matter came to light when complaints from some women came from Nagpur. These women had applied this cream continuously for about two years, after which they started suffering from kidney related diseases. Investigation revealed that most of the women had ordered this cream from online shopping websites. Lab testing confirmed the presence of mercury in this cream, which is considered a poisonous substance.

All these things raise a big question on online shopping of skincare. Also, experts say that despite so much awareness, people’s desire to get fair skin is not decreasing, whereas the truth is that healthy skin has nothing to do with color. He also tells that one should rely only on skin-lightening medicines given on doctor’s advice.

It is believed that if a person uses such cream for a long time, the protective layer of his skin gets damaged, due to which instead of making his face glow, problems like spots, acne etc start appearing. The matter is not limited to just this. According to experts, using these products can affect the entire body.
