Now the question is arising whether the captaincy of Mumbai will be snatched away from Hardik due to poor performance? The team management has answered this question in very clear words.
Let us tell you that Hardik, who made Gujarat Titans champion in the debut season in 2022, was once again associated with Mumbai Indians in 2024. But this time Hardik held Mumbai’s hand as captain. He replaced Rohit Sharma who had won 5 trophies for the team. However, till now Hardik has not got much success as captain in Mumbai.
Poor performance, will Mumbai captaincy be snatched from Hardik?
An Indian Express report quoted the source as saying, “The team management continues to support Pandya and does not see the team’s problems as a reflection of his leadership quality. Instead, he believes MI has been slow to adapt to the changing style of play in the tournament.”
One thing has become clear from this that the blame for Mumbai’s poor performance is not being put on Hardik Pandya. Hardik will also be seen captaining Mumbai in the next season i.e. 2027 IPL.
