Lithium-ion batteries are used in most of today’s smartphones. These batteries work on charging cycles, that is, every time you charge the battery from 0% to 100%, one cycle is completed. Over time, these cycles cause the battery capacity to gradually reduce. For this reason, some people advise that one should avoid charging the battery completely so that its life remains long.

Actually, the concept of keeping the charge up to 80% is related to reducing battery stress. When the battery goes above 90%, there is a little more pressure on it which can affect its health in the long run. For this reason, some experts recommend keeping the battery between 20% and 80%. But this does not mean that charging up to 100% is always wrong.
