There is news that Mumbai Indians have asked for 2 players in exchange of Hardik. The names of these two players have been given as Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Ramandeep Singh.
Will Pandya become the new captain of KKR?
Under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane, Kolkata Knight Riders have not reached the playoffs in the last 2 seasons. This time the team management may possibly make major changes regarding leadership. The latest update is that if the trade deal between Kolkata and Mumbai management goes ahead, then Hardik can captain the Kolkata team in future. It is worth noting that after joining Mumbai Indians in 2024, Hardik has been able to take MI to the playoffs only once under his captaincy.
According to a PTI report, KKR management never saw Ajinkya Rahane as a long-term captain, so it was certain that Rahane would be removed from the captaincy. Kolkata management has also discussed with the management of Mumbai Indians regarding the trade of Hardik Pandya.
If Hardik goes to KKR, it will be interesting to see whether it will be an all-cash deal or he will be traded to Mumbai Indians. In the event of a trade, Kolkata Knight Riders do not have many options which they can hand over to Mumbai Indians.
