Netflix Launched Clips: Now you will be able to watch short and vertical videos like reels on the streaming platform Netflix. For this, the company has launched vertical video feed Clips. With its help, users will be able to discover new content. Let us tell you that Netflix is busy improving its mobile experience and the new video feed is also a part of it. Clips is initially being rolled out in India, US, UK, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines and South Africa. In the next few months, it will be launched for users of other countries also.
How will the Clips feature work?
The demand for short videos has increased in the last few years, due to which platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels have become very popular. Considering this demand, Netflix also wants to enter this segment. However, Clips will work a little differently. Instead of user generated content, clips of Netflix movies and shows will be shown. The company says that with its help the user will be able to decide what he wants to watch. A dedicated tab has been provided on Netflix’s mobile app for clips. Users will also have the option to share these short videos on social media and with their friends.
How will this feature help the user?
According to reports, initially short clips related to web series and films will be shown in this feature. If the user likes a short clip, he will have the option to watch the entire movie or series or add it to the watchlist. Going forward, there are plans to include podcasts, live programming and collections etc. in this feature. With this, this feature will be further improved and users will also have the option to watch short content in between any movie or web series.
Netflix has done such experiments before
This is not Netflix’s first experiment with short videos. In 2018, the company introduced the feature of 30-second vertical video preview on its mobile app and in 2021, the company introduced Fast Laughs, in which funny clips were shown on the vertical feed. Last year, the company had announced the launch of another short video feed, under which Clips has now been launched.
