More than half of the league matches have been played in IPL 2026. Last Wednesday (April 29), the 41st match of the season was played between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede. Mumbai had to face defeat by 6 wickets in the match. With this defeat, Mumbai was in danger of being out of the playoff race. But here we will tell you that not only Mumbai, but three teams including Mumbai are in danger of being out of the playoffs.
Along with Mumbai, the teams of Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants are also on the verge of being eliminated from the playoffs. All three teams have played 8-8 matches and in that they have won only 2-2 matches. However, the thing to note is that Mumbai and Lucknow have lost 6-6 matches. Whereas Kolkata has faced defeat in 5 matches. Kolkata’s one match has been washed out due to rain, due to which they have 1 point more than the other two teams.
Mumbai Indians equation
Mumbai has faced defeat in 6 out of 8 matches. The team has won only 2 matches, with which they have 4 points. From here Mumbai has to play 6 more matches. If the team wins all the remaining 6 matches, they will have 16 points. Sometimes it becomes difficult for teams to reach the playoffs with 16 points. But the thing to note is that if Mumbai loses even one match from here, then the team will have only 14 points, with which it will be almost impossible to reach the playoffs.
Lucknow Super Giants equation
Like Mumbai, Lucknow also faced defeat in 6 out of 8 matches and won the remaining 2 matches. The team has 6 more league matches left. If the team wins all the remaining matches, they will have 16 points and their hopes of going to the playoffs will remain intact. But now if they lose even one match, the team will be reduced to 14 points and it will be almost impossible for them to go to the playoffs.
Kolkata Knight Riders equation
Kolkata has faced defeat in 5 out of 8 matches. The team has won 2 matches. The remaining one match remained inconclusive due to rain. With this the team has 5 points. From here Kolkata has to play 6 more league matches, in which by winning all, the team will reach 17 points and be a strong contender for the playoffs. But even a single defeat can make the path to the playoffs almost impossible for the team.
