Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) left-handed batsman Devdutt Padikkal praised Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar for their tremendous bowling against Delhi Capitals (DC). Padikal said that the pressure they created in the first six overs set the mood of the match.
Hazlewood took 4 wickets for 12 runs, while Bhuvi took 3 wickets for 5 runs. Thanks to his performance, RCB all out DC for 75 runs. After this, RCB achieved this target with 81 balls remaining. The pair took three wickets each in the power-play and ensured that DC never recovered from the initial shock.
After the match, Padikkal said, “I think it was great to see the way we bowled in those first six overs. Both of them are very good with the new ball. When bowling like that is happening from both ends, I think there is a lot of pressure on the team batting. That was clearly seen today.”

When Padikal was asked how his experience of fielding in the slips was when both of them were bowling, he said, “I was expecting a catch on every ball and you don’t usually say that in a T20 match. But the way these two are bowling, every ball is an opportunity.”
Talking about his slip catching, the left-handed batsman said, “I think a lot of it has to do with the time spent on the field. I think when I started fielding in the slip early in my career, I was not very good at it, but as you practice it more, I think you get better at it. It all depends on how quickly you can catch the ball and make sure that your hands are soft. Stay.”
Padikkal also stressed the importance of finishing the chase early, where he remained unbeaten on 34, while Virat Kohli, who crossed the 9,000-run mark in the history of IPL. He said, “Obviously, I think when there is such a big score on the board, it is important that we try to finish it as quickly as possible. It became a lot easier after Beth (Jacob Bethel) started the way he did.”
