New Delhi. Kolkata Knight Riders vice-captain and star batsman Rinku Singh created history against Lucknow Super Giants. Rinku played an unbeaten inning of 83 runs against Lucknow. With this, Rinku broke the record of MS Dhoni, which was in the name of the former captain of Chennai Super Kings since 2011. Rinku has become the batsman who scored the highest score by coming at number 6 in the first innings of the IPL match. MS Dhoni played an inning of 70 runs in 40 balls while playing for CSK against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2011. Dhoni had scored these runs by coming at number-6.
Rinku Singh is also the first batsman to score 80 runs by coming in at number 6 in the first innings. After Rinku and Dhoni, this list includes Ryan ten Doeschate, Kieron Pollard and Dinesh Karthik. Doeschate had scored an unbeaten 70 runs in 2011, while Pollard had played an inning of 70 runs in 2015. Karthik had scored 69 runs in 2010.
