According to media reports, there was an argument between two friends in Bibiganj market area of ​​Jaunpur. To end the dispute, both of them made a bet of Rs 2,000 as to who could eat 50 eggs first. It is said that 42 year old Subhash Yadav was eating his 42nd egg when he suddenly fell unconscious. The people present nearby immediately took him to the hospital. Later he was referred to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences for better treatment, but he died after a few hours. The treating doctors believed that consuming excessive amounts of food could have had serious effects on the body. However, the family had denied this.

Can eating too many eggs cause problems?

According to experts, eating too many eggs at one time can cause sudden pressure on the digestive system, leading to vomiting, food getting stuck in the windpipe, aspiration, severe stomach discomfort and in some cases, it can also affect the functioning of the heart. Egg yolk contains high amount of cholesterol and consuming it in such large quantities is not considered normal for the body. In a study it was claimed that eating eggs daily can increase the risk of death by 7 percent. However, scientists say that more research is needed to fully prove this relationship.

At the same time, according to Professor Riyaz Patel, Consultant Cardiologist, University College London, eggs can be a part of a balanced diet for most people and are considered safe to eat in limited quantities, unless prohibited by an expert or for dietary reasons.
