Shubman Gill Statement: Gujarat Titans, captained by Shubman Gill, is at fifth position in the IPL points table with four points with two wins and two losses. Gujarat collected full two points by defeating Lucknow Super Giants.

Shubman Gill gave statement on second consecutive victory.
New Delhi. Captain Gill had an important contribution in Gujarat’s victory, who scored 56 runs in 40 balls. After the second consecutive win, Gill said that our bowling was very good in the powerplay. And in the middle overs we were successful in putting pressure on the batsmen of the opposing team. Gujarat Titans defeated Lucknow Super Giants by seven wickets. After restricting Super Giants to 164 runs for eight wickets, Titans achieved the target with three wickets in 18.4 overs. For Titans, captain Shubhman Gill (56 runs in 40 balls) and experienced Jos Buttler (60 runs in 37 balls) made a partnership of 84 runs in 58 balls for the second wicket to ensure the team’s victory. Digvesh Rathi, Mohammed Shami and Prince Yadav got one success each for Super Giants.
Shubman Gill said, ‘Our bowling was very good in the powerplay and we were successful in maintaining pressure in the middle overs.’ Praising Rashid Khan, Gill said, ‘The way he is bowling makes the captain’s job easier. He brings the team back into the match every time. Praising Siraj, Gill said, ‘It is difficult to stop runs in the first six overs, but in this match he performed very well and brought us back into the match.’

Gill defended Kagiso Rabada, who gave 54 runs in four overs, saying, ‘He gave runs, but his length was accurate.’ Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant admitted that his team could not score enough runs. He said, ‘A score of 170 to 180 would have been good on this pitch, but we kept losing wickets continuously and came under pressure.’ Pant said that the team got opportunities, but we failed to take advantage of them. Expressing confidence in the players, this wicketkeeper batsman said, ‘The tournament has just started and experienced players know what they have to do.’
Digvesh Rathi, Mohammed Shami and Prince Yadav got one success each for Super Giants. Before this, Prasidh got good support from Mohammad Siraj (one wicket for 19 runs in four overs) and Ashok Sharma (two wickets for 32 runs in four overs). Kagiso Rabada also got a breakthrough, but he conceded 54 runs in four overs. Rashid Khan gave 25 runs in four overs. Aiden Markram made the maximum contribution of 30 runs for the Super Giants. Apart from him, no other batsman could reach the 20-run mark. Captain Rishabh Pant (18), Nicholas Pooran (19), Abdul Samad (18) and Mukul Chaudhary (18) lost their wickets after spending time at the crease.
