Superintelligent AI: After Artificial Intelligence (AI), now everyone is looking towards its next phase, Super Intelligence or Superintelligent AI. Many companies including Meta are working in this direction. Now OpenAI, the company that makes ChatGPT, has issued a warning regarding this. The company says that the world is soon going to enter an era of Superintelligent AI, where machines will leave even the smartest humans behind and the society is not ready for it. OpenAI says that ‘superintelligence’ may arrive sooner than expected and it requires immediate changes in economics, jobs and governance systems.
What will change with the arrival of Superintelligent AI?
OpenAI believes that in the future, AI systems will not be limited to tools that complete a specific task. These systems will become so capable that they will be able to easily handle even those difficult tasks which take weeks or months for humans to complete. Company CEO Sam Altman believes that such a future is not far. He had said that by the end of 2028, the world’s intellectual capacity will be inside data centers instead of outside. According to Altman, such systems will completely change leadership and research. They will be able to run companies in a better way than humans and will be able to do better research than the world’s best scientists.
OpenAI expressed the need to start preparations
AI tools have become very advanced in a very short time. Now they can do those tasks in a jiffy, which take humans many hours or days to do. If this speed continues, then soon such tools will come which will leave humans behind in intellectual tasks in different fields. OpenAI says that no one knows how this transition will happen, but preparations for it need to start now. The company believes that superintelligence can be a big achievement like electricity and industrial machinery.

Even though Superintelligent AI is being considered a big achievement, the challenges associated with it are no less. In its warning, OpenAI has mentioned many challenges like large-scale layoffs of employees, accumulation of money with some companies, misuse of powerful AI systems and non-implementation of existing rules.
