Simon Doull also criticized Rishabh Pant fiercely. He said that Pant has done nothing in the entire season except winning just one match for Lucknow. The veteran New Zealand cricketer said that LSG has spent Rs 50 crore on only 2 players. The team spent half the purse on two players, but no one is doing the work of winning the match. Puran gets Rs 23 crore and Rishabh Pant gets Rs 27 crore.

Nicholas Pooran has scored 51 runs in 6 innings this season at an average of only 8.50. Whereas Rishabh Pant has scored 147 runs in 6 innings this season. Barring the inning of 68 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Pant has also not done anything special in IPL 2026. Lucknow is currently at ninth position in the table.
