Simmons was such a lethal bowler of his time, against whom the batsmen of the opposing team were left breathless while scoring runs. He did something similar in an ODI match against Pakistan in 1992 when he made the batsmen yearn for one run each.

Phil Simmons bowled 10 overs in that match against Pakistan, in which he conceded only 3 runs. During this period he bowled 8 maiden overs. Talking about wickets, Simmons also took 4 wickets in the match. Because of this match, he got the status of the most stingy bowler in ODIs.

Pakistan was bundled out for 81 runs in 48 overs.

The Pakistan team was left helpless in front of this deadly bowling of Phil Simmons. The situation was such that the entire team batted for 48 overs and could score only 81 runs. The top scorers for Pakistan were Inzamam ul Haq and Waqar Younis. Inzamam and Waqar scored 17-17 runs in the innings for Pakistan. Desmond Haynes played the biggest innings of 96 runs while batting for West Indies. In this innings, he faced 152 balls, which included 6 fours.
