AI Bots On Internet: Now the day is not far when there will be more traffic of AI bots than humans on the internet. This balance between humans and AI bots is soon going to deteriorate. Cloudflare Chief Executive Matthew Prince says that in the next few years there will be more AI-powered bots than humans on the Internet. He told that due to the rapidly growing generative AI, AI agents will leave human activities behind and humans will start doing most of the work.
Online behavior of bots is different from humans
Prince told that the behavior of bots on the internet is very different from that of humans. Humans visit only a few websites at a time, but AI systems can scan thousands of websites in a few seconds. Giving an example, he said that suppose a person wants to buy a digital camera, he will visit 5 websites, but an agent can visit 5,000 websites for the same purpose. This will be real traffic and everyone will have to be prepared for it.
What was the situation before AI?
Prince says that before the advent of generative AI, bot traffic was only 20 percent on the Internet and most of it was coming from trusted sources like search engine crawlers. Apart from this, most of the other bots were linked to scams and malicious activities. Now after Generative AI, such a situation may arise by 2027, when AI bots will have more activity than humans on the Internet.
Pressure will increase on the network
Due to increase in bot activity, physical infrastructure will be required. Besides, demand for data centers and servers etc. will also increase. Comparing it to the Corona epidemic, Prince said that even then there was an increase in streaming on YouTube and Netflix and the pressure on the network had increased. Now this can happen again.
