Ramadan 2026: Ashra of freedom from hell is going on and Eid is about to come. Allah is being worshiped through namaz, roza, recitation and good deeds. Whereas followers of Islam will complete the 29th fast on Thursday, March 19 and see the new moon of Eid (Shawwal month). If the moon is visible then the festival of Eid will be celebrated on Friday 20 March. If the moon is not seen then the festival of Eid will be celebrated on Saturday 21st March after completing the 30th fast on Friday. Ulama Kiram has completed preparations to see the moon.
City Qazi Mufti Muhammad Azhar Shamsi said that sighting of the moon during the five months of Shaban, Ramzan, Shawwal, Jikada, Zilhijja is obligatory. Prophet-e-Islam Hazrat Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said that the month is of 29th and also of 30th. Start the fast after seeing the moon and end the fast after seeing the moon. If the sky is not clear then complete the count of 30.
Mufti-e-Shahar Akhtar Hussain Mannani said that Eidgah means a place of happiness or a time of happiness. This is a place where people offer two Rakat Namaz and thank Allah. When a person completes 29 or 30 days of fasting, Allah Almighty orders him to celebrate.
Qari Muhammad Anas Naqshbandi told that offering Eid namaz in Eidgah is the Sunnah of Prophet-e-Islam Hazrat Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and Sahabah Kiram, hence efforts should be made to offer Eid namaz in Eidgah only. Idgah has been built for two Eids only.
While going for Eid-ul-Fitr prayers, Takbeer Tashreek 'Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La Ilaha Illallah, Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wa Lillahil Hamd' will be recited slowly. It is Sunnah to offer Namaz at Eidgah and then to return by changing the route, to go on foot and to recite Takbeera Tashreek on the way. On the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, the Prophet of Islam would eat something and take it to Namaz. They would go to celebrate Eid via one route and return via the other.
