New Delhi: Indian cricket team’s preparations for the ICC ODI World Cup 2027 are in full swing. Before the tournament, Team India is continuously playing ODI series. Recently, India’s three-match series with England has ended. After this, now the Indian team is going to host the ODI series with West Indies at home which is to be held in September, but before that a big challenge has also arisen.
In fact, when the three ODI matches begin between India and West Indies, the Asian Games is also beginning. Many prominent players of Team India will also participate in this Asian Games. In such a situation, there are about 8 players who will not be able to play in the three-match ODI series against West Indies.
Which players will be out of the ODI series?
BCCI has selected a strong team for the Asian Games. This team includes players like Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh. The Asian Games is starting from 24th September and will continue till 1st October. At the same time, a series of three ODI matches will be played between India and West Indies from 27th September which will continue till 3rd October.
Whereas, if we talk about the Asian Games squad, it includes players like Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Akshar Patel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Harshit Rana, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh. All these players are important members of the ODI team and all these players are also part of the Asian Games team. This is the reason why these players will not be able to play in the ODI series against West Indies.
