Gautam Gambhir talking to Tilak Verma
New Delhi: Team India’s coaching staff may be in trouble after losing three consecutive T-20 matches on the England tour. According to the report, BCCI may review the performance of the team’s coaching staff and players for the disappointing performance in the T-20 series. Although the contract of head coach Gautam Gambhir is till 2027, but according to BCCI sources, his job is in danger after the recent performance of the team.
Let us tell you that under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, Team India has lost two consecutive T20 series. The Indian team was first defeated 2-0 by Ireland and now England has taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match T20 series. So far four matches have been played between India and England, out of which the first match of the series was canceled due to rain.
Questions are being raised on the decisions of team management
The talk of BCCI reviewing the Indian team is spreading because questions have been raised regarding many decisions of the management during the England tour. Especially the team management is being criticized a lot for dropping Sanju Samson from the team. Sanju Samson was dropped after the first T20 match against England. In his place, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was fielded for the opening, but he has not proved to be effective.
On the other hand, the form of Ishan Kishan and Tilak Verma has also become a headache for Team India. Tilak Verma has been a flop in batting throughout this tour including the Ireland series. Now the question is whether Tilak Verma, who is continuously failing, is not being dropped because he is the vice-captain? Whereas, if we talk about Ishan Kishan, this top player of ICC T-20 ranking is struggling to score runs on the fast pitches of England.
