India Women’s beat England in Lord’s Test: Harmanpreet Kaur’s team India created history in the first women’s Test played at Lord’s. Lord’s Ground, known as the ‘Mecca’ of cricket, hosted a women’s test match for the first time in its 142-year history and on this historic occasion, the Indian women’s team gave a performance which will be remembered for a long time. Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, Team India defeated host England at all four points and won by a huge margin of 270 runs. With this victory, India not only registered its name in golden letters in the history of Lord’s, but also maintained its unbeaten record in women’s Test cricket on English soil.
Mandhana’s bat
India had scored 285 runs in the first innings. Opener Smriti Mandhana gave a strong start to the team by playing a brilliant inning of 83 runs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and experienced all-rounder Deepti Sharma also scored half-centuries and took the team to a strong score. In reply, England’s first innings was reduced to 170 runs.
Kranti Gaur’s name on Lord’s Honors Board
Indian fast bowler Kranti Gaur bowled brilliantly and took five wickets and got his name registered on the prestigious Honors Board of Lord’s. On the basis of first innings, India got a significant lead of 115 runs.
Yastika Bhatia’s powerful century
India maintained its dominance in the second innings also. Smriti Mandhana played a useful inning of 70 runs, while Yastika Bhatia scored a brilliant 113 runs and completely put the match in India’s control. In the end, Richa Ghosh scored an unbeaten half-century in just 52 balls and set a difficult target of 457 runs for England.

England got buried under the target like a mountain
Chasing such a big target, England’s batting was a complete flop for the second time. The entire team was all out for 186 runs. From England’s side, only Amy Jones was seen struggling somewhat in both the innings. In this way India won the match by 270 runs.
India’s dominance continues in England
This was the 11th Test of the Indian women’s team on the soil of England and the special thing is that India has not lost any test there till now. This was India’s seventh win in the recent 11 Test matches, while three matches were drawn and only one match was lost. This historic victory at Lord’s will always be remembered in the golden chapters of Indian women’s cricket.
