Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has started the application process for recruitment to a total of 6,557 posts of Technician Grade-I and Technician Grade-III. The application has started from 30th June and interested candidates can apply online till 29th July 2026. In such a situation, the candidates do not have much time left.

The biggest feature of this recruitment is its attractive salary. Selected candidates will get good starting salary as per the post. Candidates selected for Technician Grade-I will get a starting salary of Rs 29,200 per month, while candidates selected for Technician Grade-III will get a starting salary of Rs 19,900 per month. Apart from this, the benefit of other allowances of Railways will also be available.

A total of 6,557 vacancies will be filled under the recruitment drive. Of these, 323 posts have been earmarked for Technician Grade-I and 6,234 posts for Technician Grade-III. This is considered to be one of the biggest recruitments of the year for the youth looking for permanent jobs in Railways.

Who can apply?

Talking about qualification, for Technician Grade-III, the candidate must have passed 10th. At the same time, technical qualification prescribed as per the respective posts or educational eligibility related to engineering has also been sought. The age limit has been fixed at 18 to 33 years for Grade-I and 18 to 30 years for Grade-III. Reserved category candidates will also get age relaxation as per government rules. SC and ST category will be given five years relaxation and OBC category will be given three years relaxation.

How will the selection be done?

Candidates will be selected through Computer Based Written Examination (CBT). 100 multiple choice questions will be asked in the exam, which will include questions related to General Awareness, Mathematics, Reasoning, General Intelligence and Computer. The exam will be of total 100 marks and negative marking of one-third mark will also be applicable for each wrong answer.

For the candidates who are going to apply, it is very important to keep in mind the important dates. The last date for online application is 29 July 2026. The application fee can be deposited till 31st July. If there is any mistake in the application form, then a chance will be given to correct it from August 1 to August 10, 2026.
