After the draw of the first test, preparation for major changes in India A team, these star players may get a place in the playing XI.

Gaul. Emerging players Gurnoor Brar and Manav Suthar are expected to feature in the India A squad against Sri Lanka A in the second cricket Test starting on Thursday. The first Test of four days was a draw in which opener Sai Sudarshan and captain Dhruv Jurel scored centuries for India A. Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Aaqib Nabi made a great start for India by taking a total of five wickets in the match. He took four wickets in the first innings.

This is an experience enhancing tour in which the aim is to give opportunity to every player of India A, hence the team management under the leadership of Hrishikesh Kanitkar can make some changes. It is expected that Brar will be included in the team, who recently made a great debut in ODI against Afghanistan. The Indian senior team wants to prepare a backup of fast bowlers before the tour of New Zealand and the home series against Australia early next year.

Gurnoor is likely to play, so Yash Thakur may have to sit out. Similarly, Suthar, who took 10 wickets in his Test debut against Afghanistan, may also get a chance. This spinner also performed well in county cricket for Warwickshire after his Test debut. If Suthar plays, left arm spinner Harsh Dubey will be rested. Two more players who did not get a chance in the first match are opening batsman Aman Mokhade and leg spinner Zeeshan Ansari.

To accommodate Ansari, the team management will have to drop off-spinner Saransh Jain, while Mokhade may get the place of Ayush Pandey. However, if Sai Sudarshan is not considered fit after retiring due to injury in the second innings of India A, then Ayush may get another chance.
