Delhi Capitals did not use the spinner

New Delhi: In the do or die match against Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bowl first. Delhi captain Akshar Patel made five changes in the team for this match. However, the team’s bowlers did not live up to the expectations with which Delhi decided to bowl first. Against Delhi, Punjab Kings scored 210 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.

Delhi Capitals team used a total of 5 bowlers in the innings, out of which the most economical ones were Mukesh Kumar and Aaqib Nabi. The surprising thing is that among the five bowlers whom the Delhi Capitals team bowled, there was not a single spinner. Apart from Mukesh and Aaqib, Mitchell Starc, Madhav Tiwari and Lungi Ngidi also bowled 4 overs each.

For the first time in 10 years, there was no spin bowling in the match.

Let us tell you that this is the first time in 10 years in IPL that no team has fielded a single spin bowler. Captain Akshar Patel himself could have bowled spin for Delhi against Punjab, but he did not want to take any risk by fielding spin bowlers on the Dharamshala pitch. Earlier in the IPL in 2016, Sunrisers Hyderabad team had not bowled to even a single spin bowler in the match. This match of Sunrisers was against RCB, in which it won by 15 runs.
