Asian Games 2026 women team announced: The Indian women’s team has been announced for the Asian Games. The selectors have expressed confidence in captain Harmanpreet Kaur despite her poor performance in the ICC T20 World Cup. Pratika Rawal has not got a place in the 15-member team.

New Delhi. Team India captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who was eliminated from the first round of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, will also be seen captaining in the Asian Games. Despite the disappointing performance, BCCI has again appointed him as the captain for the Asian Games. India will try to defend its gold medal from the previous edition in the Asian Games.
The team’s star opener Smriti Mandhana will be seen as the vice captain. Along with them, experienced players Shefali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma have also got a place in the Indian team for the Asian Games. Richa Ghosh and G Kamalini have been selected as wicketkeepers. According to BCCI, Shreyanka Patil’s participation in the Asian Games will depend on her fitness.
