Not even 24 hours have passed since Ireland’s historic victory when a shocking news has emerged from their camp. Actually, Ireland men’s cricket team head coach Henrique Malan has resigned from his post. He was playing this role for more than four years. 45-year-old Malan announced his resignation from the post of head coach after the team’s historic series win against India.
Why did Malan take this decision?
Praising Malan’s contribution, the team’s High Performance Director Graham West said that discussions were going on for the last few months regarding preparations for the 2027 World Cup Qualifiers. Malan himself expressed his desire to step back at this juncture so that the new coach could get full time to prepare the team from the ODI series against Afghanistan in August. West wished Malan all the best for the future and thanked him for managing the team in times of crisis.

Apart from this, we defeated the top teams of the world like Pakistan, West Indies and South Africa. Thank you all for believing in our shared vision. This was a very special journey.
