Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Debut: Former Chief Selector Dilip Vengsarkar, who fought with big giants to include Virat Kohli in the team in 2008, said that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is a long race horse. This 15 year old rising star is not only a master in T-20, but he can also be a hit in the longer format.
The demand for Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s debut is increasing rapidly.
When Dilip Vengsarkar, who was the Chief Selector between 2006 and 2088, was asked whether Vaibhav should play in the T20I series against England, he called Vaibhav a talented player. Dilip Vengsarkar, who has played 116 Tests and 129 ODIs for India, said:
He is a talented young player who has done very well in T20 and I am sure he will do well in Test cricket too, but we have to see how he plays in the longer format, which is very important. His batting style is completely different because when we were growing up, we were only told to play shots in the ‘V’ and on the ground, so nowadays because of the different formats, I think he is coached differently.
Vengsar had made revolutionary changes during his tenure
It is important to mention here that Dilip Vengsarkar is the person who fought with everyone to include young Virat Kohli in the team. Later he had to lose his chairmanship also. Between 2006 and 2008, the Indian cricket team was going through a period of change. Vengsarkar gave a chance to the players who performed in domestic cricket in the senior team. Many new faces were included in the Test and ODI teams.
When will Vaibhav Suryavanshi debut?
The much awaited international debut of Vaibhav Suryavanshi did not happen in the first match against Ireland, so the question is when will this 15 year old rising sensation get a chance on the field. The second match of the series will be held on Sunday, June 28, at the same ground in Belfast, where India lost the match by 34 runs. If Vaibhav is not given a chance in the Ireland series, then he will also have a five-match T20 series starting from July 1.
