Wave of mourning in Indian cricket, Virat Kohli’s friend dies at the age of 36

who is Amanpreet Singh Gill: Cricketer Amanpreet Singh Gill, who played for the Under-19 team for India, has died at the age of 36. Amanpreet played cricket with Virat Kohli. He was also included in the Punjab Kings team in the first season of IPL. Punjab Cricket and former player Yuvraj Singh have also expressed grief over his demise.

New Delhi: Former India Under-19 and Punjab medium pacer Amanpreet Singh Gill died on Wednesday in Chandigarh at the age of 36, sending a wave of mourning across the cricket world. Amanpreet Singh had also appeared on the field with Virat Kohli in the Indian Under-19 team. The cause of his death is not yet known. He took 11 wickets in six first-class matches for Punjab. He was also a part of the Kings XI Punjab team in the first season of the Indian Premier League and later served as a member of Punjab’s senior selection committee.
Giving information about his demise on Twitter, Punjab Cricket Association wrote, “Punjab Cricket Association expresses its deepest condolences on the tragic demise of former cricketer and senior selection committee member Amanpreet Singh Gill. Our heartfelt condolences are with his family and loved ones. May Waheguru give peace to the departed soul and strength to the family in this difficult time.”
