Rishabh Pant, who will captain Lucknow Super Giants till Indian Premier League 2026, will now be seen playing for Delhi Capitals. He left the captaincy of the team after poor performance. Now the Delhi team has added him through trade.

The return of players to the team in the Indian Premier League is not a new thing. At present there is talk of Rishabh Pant returning to Delhi Capitals. Under the tournament’s auction, trade and release policy, players move from one team to another.

The most popular name among those who got traded from one team and went to their old team is that of Hardik Pandya. This all-rounder, who made his debut for Mumbai Indians, got a chance to make a comeback again. Hardik moved to Gujarat Titans in 2022 and won the trophy while captaining the team. The current example is that of Rishabh Pant whose story is heart touching. After spending nine seasons (2016-2024) with Delhi Capitals, he was included in their team by Lucknow Super Giants in 2025 by paying a record Rs 27 crore in the auction. After the end of 2026 IPL, he left the captaincy and now there is news of his joining Delhi again.
