five talented cricketers never played for india: Every child in India dreams of holding a bat or ball in his hand and playing cricket for the country. It is a proud moment for every cricketer to come on the field wearing a blue jersey and lead the country to victory. However, not everyone gets success in this. We have seen many such talented players, who fortunately played for India and earned a lot of name. However, there were some players whose record in domestic cricket was excellent but they never got a place in the playing eleven of Team India. The most sad thing is when, despite selection in the Indian team, one does not get a chance to play even a single match. We have brought here the story of 5 such unfortunate players, who became a part of the team but could never play the match.

Maharashtra’s Dheeraj Jadhav was a legend in domestic cricket, but his dream of playing for India remained just a dream. In 2004, he was selected in the team for the fourth test against Australia. But at that time, due to the presence of greats like Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman in the team, he did not get a chance to debut. If we look at his first class record, he scored 5831 runs in 76 matches at an average of 56.06. He scored 20 centuries and his best score was 260 not out.

Bengal’s tall fast bowler Shib Shankar Paul troubled the batsmen a lot with his pace. He got a place in the Indian team for the Test series against Australia and then against Bangladesh in 2004, but luck did not favor him and he could never get on the field. He retired from cricket in 2016. If we look at Shib Shankar’s first class record, he took 220 wickets in 61 matches, in which he also took 5 wickets in an innings 15 times.

Randeb Bose was one of India’s most reliable bowlers. In 2007, during the series against England, he also took 5 wickets in a practice match. But captain Rahul Dravid preferred Sreesanth over him. After this he never got a chance again. The interesting thing is that he never bowled a ‘no ball’ in his entire career. His figures in first class are excellent. Randeb took 317 wickets in 91 matches. He was also a part of Punjab and Kolkata teams in IPL.

Sunil Valson’s name will always be remembered in history. He was a part of the Indian team that won the 1983 World Cup, but he did not get a chance to play a single match in the entire tournament. He is the only player who was in the World Champion team but could never play any international match for India. Sunil played 75 matches in first class cricket and took 212 wickets. After retirement, he has also worked as the manager of IPL team Delhi Capitals (earlier Delhi Daredevils).

The domestic record of Mumbai’s left arm spinner Rajesh Pawar was amazing. He was selected among the 30 probable players for the 2007 World Cup and then also got a place in the Test team for the Bangladesh tour. However, despite the presence of great spinners like Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh, he did not get a chance in the playing eleven. Rajesh took 281 wickets in 84 first class matches. Along with bowling, he was also a good batsman and his best score was 95 runs.
