Pujara believes that in the presence of the main trio that won the T20 World Cup, it will be very difficult for Vaibhav Suryavanshi to make a place in the playing eleven of the first T20 match against England. While talking to Star Sports, Cheteshwar Pujara emphasized on the strength and stability of the Indian top-order. He said, ‘I do not see any change in India’s top-3 i.e. Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan. It is absolutely certain that Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan will be included in the playing eleven of the first match. When you have a trio in such form, the management will not take the risk of change easily. Given such a destructive and in-form batting line-up, it seems almost impossible for any new player, no matter how talented, to make a place in the team straight away.

Hope of debut against Ireland, support of rotation policy in England
Even though Vaibhav Suryavanshi will have to wait for the first match against England, Pujara has not considered him completely out of the series. Just before the England series, India has to play a two-match T20 series against Ireland, which is starting from June 26 in Belfast. The Ireland team is currently struggling with injuries, and it is believed that Vaibhav will make his international debut during this series. Talking about Vaibhav’s chances in the England series, Pujara said that India’s rotation policy will prove helpful for this young player. He further said, ‘When the series progresses and India starts rotating its players, Vaibhav Suryavanshi will definitely get a chance to play in at least one match. He is a player of the future and gradually acclimating him to the environment would be a great strategy.

Pujara also spoke on Tilak Verma’s batting position
During this conversation, Pujara also expressed his opinion on the ongoing debate regarding the batting position of the team’s newly appointed vice-captain Tilak Verma. In the World Cup, Tilak played many match-winning innings in the lower-middle order and played an important role in the team’s title victory. Praising Tilak’s versatility, Pujara said, ‘According to me, Tilak Verma is a batsman who definitely has the ability to bat in the top-3. But at the same time, he has proved in the recent past that he can bat equally effectively at number 5 and number 6. His flexibility is a big plus point for Team India.
