With this victory, Mumbai has kept alive its hopes of reaching the playoffs. In the match, Lucknow team, batting first, scored 228 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, Mumbai Indians scored 229 runs at the loss of 4 wickets with 8 balls remaining and registered their third win of this season. However, this victory has not brought any change for Mumbai in the points table.
While chasing the target in this match against Lucknow, Ryan Rickleton and Rohit Sharma made a strong start. There was a partnership of 143 runs between the two for the first wicket. This was the third time in IPL that Rickleton and Rohit made a century partnership. However, both these batsmen missed out on scoring their personal century. Rickleton was out after scoring 83 runs in 32 balls. In this innings he also hit 8 sixes and 6 fours. Talking about Rohit Sharma, he contributed 84 runs in 44 balls. Rohit hit 7 sixes and 6 fours in this innings. After this, the lower order batsmen helped the team win easily. Puran did wonders in batting for Lucknow
Lucknow’s batting was fine in the match against Mumbai Indians. Although the team lost the first wicket early, but after that Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh did not let the pace of runs slow down. In the match, Puran played a stormy inning of 63 runs with the help of 8 sixes in 21 balls, while Mitchell Marsh contributed 44 runs.
At the same time, for the team in the middle order, Himmat Singh scored 40 runs in 31 balls, while Aiden Markram played an inning of 31 runs in 25 balls, due to which the team reached 228 runs but its bowlers could not defend this score.
