New Delhi. West Bengal cricketer Abhishek Porel, who plays for Delhi Capitals in the IPL, has been accused of exploitation on the pretext of marriage. On Tuesday, a senior police officer said that a medical student from Karnataka has filed a complaint against him at Mogra police station in Hooghly district. Abhishek Porel is a resident of Chandannagar of this district. According to sources, 23-year-old Abhishek has denied these allegations. It is learned that Abhishek is currently in Bengaluru.

After the matter came to light, Hooghly (Rural) Superintendent of Police Kunwar Bhushan Singh visited Mogra Police Station. He discussed the case with Inspector-in-charge Soumen Biswas and DSP (Crime) Abhijeet Singh Mohapatra. Police have confirmed that the investigation has started. A senior officer said, “The complaint has been registered. We have started investigation.”
