Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam has invited applications for recruitment to 50 posts of Junior Research Fellow (JRF). This recruitment has been done for the candidates associated with Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Radiation Physics and various engineering subjects.
Only Indian citizens can apply for this recruitment. The online application process has started from 22 June 2026 and interested candidates can apply till 13 July 2026. Applications will be made online through the official website of IGCAR.
Who can apply?
For this recruitment, educational qualification has been prescribed according to different subjects. For posts related to Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and Radiation Physics, candidates should have M.Sc. or Integrated M.Sc. degree in the relevant subject. For some posts, study of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects at B.Sc level is also required.
For engineering related posts, candidates should have BE, B.Tech, ME or M.Tech degree in the relevant branch. A valid GATE score is mandatory to apply for some posts, while candidates scoring more than the GATE cut-off in some categories may be called directly for interview.
age limit
The maximum age of the applying candidates has been fixed at 28 years. However, reserved category candidates will be given age relaxation as per government rules.
How much stipend will you get?
Selected candidates will be admitted to the PhD program of Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). During research work, they will be provided fellowship ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 42,000 every month. With this, candidates will be able to get financial assistance along with high level scientific research.

necessary documents
At the time of application, candidates will have to keep documents like date of birth certificate, all educational certificates and mark sheets from 10th onwards, experience certificate (if any), caste certificate, disability certificate, NOC and GATE, UGC-CSIR NET or JEST score card ready. Original and self-attested photocopies of documents will also be required.

After completion of registration, login and fill the application form. Then upload passport size photo, signature and necessary documents. After checking all the information, submit the application form finally.
