IPL 2026 points table topper Punjab Kings was all out for only 163 runs. This season, Gujarat could have become the first team to all out Punjab, but 9 wickets fell. Suryansh Shedge and Marcus Stoinis strongly defended their wickets and saved the honor of the Punjab team by playing strong innings. This was the first half-century of Shedge’s IPL career.
Till now, Punjab’s opening batsmen Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh had been creating a storm. But against Gujarat, by the time the score was 35, all three top order batsmen of Punjab had returned to the pavilion and half the team was out by 47 runs. The situation was so bad that Mohammad Siraj had taken 2 wickets in the very first over.
Shedge and Stoinis saved shame
If 5 wickets have fallen before 50 runs, then it is difficult for any team to make a comeback. But Suryansh Shedge and Marcus Stoinis made a partnership of 79 runs and took the team’s score beyond 100. Shedge scored the first half-century of his IPL career and scored 57 runs in 29 balls. On the other hand, Stoinis contributed 40 runs. Marco Jansen also played a cameo inning of 20 runs in 11 balls.
Jason Holder’s havoc
Jason Holder proved to be the most dangerous for Gujarat Titans, who gave only 24 runs in a spell of 4 overs and dismissed four batsmen. The credit for Gujarat’s good start goes to Mohammed Siraj, who dismissed Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly in the very first over. Kagiso Rabada took 2 wickets, due to which he has come to third place in the race for Purple Cap. He has taken 16 wickets in the season so far. Rashid Khan also managed to achieve a success.
