Gujarat defeated Punjab for the first time in IPL, created history in Ahmedabad, won the match by 4 wickets

Gujarat Titans have defeated Punjab Kings by 4 wickets. This is the first time in the history of the Indian Premier League that Gujarat has defeated the Punjab team at the Narendra Modi Stadium. In the 46th match of the tournament, Punjab, batting first, scored 163 runs on the scoreboard. In reply, Gujarat won with 4 wickets remaining in the last over. Gujarat’s first victory

Till now, Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings had come face to face twice at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both times Punjab had defeated Gujarat by entering the house. This is the first time in the history of IPL that Gujarat Titans team has defeated Punjab in Ahmedabad.

Gujarat, which came to chase the target of 164 runs, had a bad start as captain Shubman Gill was out early. The 53-run partnership between Sai Sudarshan and Jos Buttler took over Gujarat’s innings, but in the meantime Butler was out after scoring 26 runs. Nishant Sindhu was making his IPL debut, but was out after scoring only 15 runs in the first match.

Wickets were falling continuously at one end, but Sai Sudarshan remained at the crease till the 15th over and played a fighting inning of 57 runs to take Gujarat closer to victory. This was Sudarshan’s third fifty this season, apart from this he has also scored a century. Earlier, Jason Holder had laid the foundation of Gujarat’s victory, who had dismissed 4 batsmen of Punjab.

After Sudarshan was out, Washington Sundar took the responsibility of finishing the match. Under pressure, Sundar scored 40 runs in 23 balls and led his team to victory by hitting a six.
