According to the information, about 300 students were going to appear in the MA Sociology second paper examination. When the candidates opened the question paper after the exam started, they were surprised. The document in his hand had answers instead of questions. Initially many students thought that perhaps this was a model paper, but after some time it became clear that this was the official answer key of the exam.
There was commotion in the examination hall.
After receiving the answer key, there was confusion at the examination centre. The students lodged a protest raising questions on the examination process. Many candidates refused to take the exam and expressed their anger against the university administration. Students said that such carelessness in an important process like examination is playing with their future. As soon as information about the matter was received, the teachers and invigilators present in the examination class started taking back the answer keys distributed from the students. However, by then the students had understood the entire incident and started raising questions about the examination system of the university.
Student leaders demanded action
After the incident, students also surrounded the university administration. Student leader Lakshyaraj Luhariya and other student representatives termed it as serious administrative negligence and demanded strict action against the responsible officials. He said that such incidents can damage the reputation of the university and weaken the confidence of the students. Students also protested outside the administrative building of the university and demanded an impartial investigation into the matter. Many students also alleged that the officials present at the examination center initially tried to suppress the matter.
How did such a big mistake come to light?
Initial investigation revealed that the question paper and answer key were sent in separate sealed envelopes. But during the printing and packing process, the envelope containing the answer key was mistaken for the question paper. After this, the material was printed and sealed packets were prepared and sent to the examination centres. Because sealed envelopes are not opened until the commencement of the examination, the mistake could not be detected earlier. The whole matter came to light through the students only after the exams started.
