New Delhi. Two big news have come simultaneously for Indian cricket fans. The first is that veteran batsman Virat Kohli has returned to the ODI team. And secondly, whether he will be able to play in the series against England or not, it will be decided by a big fitness test to be held on Sunday i.e. 22 June 2026. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced a 15-member team for the 3-match ODI series against England in July. Virat Kohli’s name is included in this team captained by Shubman Gill, but there is a big star in front of his name ‘Subject to Fitness’ i.e. dependent on passing the fitness test.

Virat Kohli suffered a serious hamstring injury during the IPL final match. Since then he has been away from the cricket field. According to sources, Kohli’s recovery is going very well. Recently, Kohli was examined by the BCCI medical team in London, where he was given a special program for initial rehabilitation. Virat Kohli will report to the BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru on June 22. It is here that his final re-evaluation and fitness test will take place, only after which he will get the green signal to fly on the England tour.

What happened in Kohli’s absence?
Due to this injury, Virat Kohli could not be a part of the recently played 3-match ODI series against Afghanistan. However, the Indian team won this series 3-0. In the absence of Kohli, young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal got a chance, who scored a brilliant century in the last match in Chennai. At the same time, Ishan Kishan also played a brilliant inning of 125 runs in Lucknow ODI. Interestingly, centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal has not got a place in the 15-member team going to England, while Ishan Kishan managed to save his place.

India’s 15-member ODI squad for England tour
If Virat passes his fitness test in Bengaluru on June 22, then he will be seen playing three ODI matches against England between July 14 and 19 with this balanced team.

India’s ODI team

Now the eyes of the entire country are fixed on the Center of Excellence in Bengaluru tomorrow, where the fitness report of King Kohli will decide the equation of the Indian team in England.
