  • In Jodhpur, students’ copies were checked in a few seconds with the help of AI.
  • Subject-wise assessment of more than 70,000 students was done through AI app.
  • Teachers will now be able to make improvements focusing on weak topics.
  • This initiative will increase accountability by removing learning gaps.

Such education news has come out from Jodhpur, which may change the picture of schools in the coming times. Here now it does not take weeks to check copies, rather the report card of every student is ready within a few seconds. This has become possible with the help of Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI. The answer sheets of more than 70,000 students from class 6th to 9th in more than 1000 schools of the district were checked with the AI app and a subject-wise, clear and unbiased assessment of each child was prepared.

According to media reports, Jivraj Singh, a class 8 student studying in a government school, is an example of this. His report shows that he is ‘better’ at understanding statistics, has a strong grip on the rights and duties of ancient civilizations and the Constitution. Whereas the understanding of stories and poems is in the ‘improving’ category. The understanding of number rules in mathematics and natural resources in science is also ‘improving’.

How does this AI system work?

Now teachers scan the copies with AI app. As soon as the scan is done, the app reads the answers and gives marks and also prepares subject wise analysis. Where earlier it used to take 5-7 minutes to check a copy, now the same work is being done in seconds. The special thing is that this system is analyzing not only MCQ questions but also written answers. For the first time in the country, subjective answers have been checked at this level with AI.

Under this initiative, more than 3 lakh assessments were prepared in the five subjects of English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science. Where earlier it would take weeks to prepare such reports, now separate analysis reports for students, teachers, principals and schools were prepared in three days.

Big help for teachers

Dozens of topics for each subject are visible in the AI report on a scale from 0 to 10. Where the marks are low, there is said to be a need for ‘immediate improvement’. Where the marks are more, the situation is considered good. With this, teachers can work directly on those topics where children are behind. This is being called ‘targeted reform’.

Uniform investigation, without bias

District education officials say that earlier evaluation was done differently in different schools. There was no equality with this. Now uniform and mistake-free evaluation is being done through AI. This makes learning gaps clearly visible and increases accountability in the entire system.

Success achieved from the first phase

In the first phase in October 2025, this experiment was conducted on more than 3000 students in 54 government English medium schools. After the success there, it was implemented in the entire district. Now teachers and principals of 15 blocks are being given training, so that they can understand and use this system properly.
Who started this initiative?

This project was started last year by the then District Collector Gaurav Aggarwal. Now it is being taken forward with the cooperation of District Collector Alok Ranjan, CEO of Zilla Parishad, Education Department, DIET, Block Education Officer, schools and thousands of teachers.
