IVF Success Factors: The dream of becoming a mother is special for every woman, but when this dream is not easily fulfilled then treatments like IVF emerge as a new ray of hope. Meanwhile, a new study has revealed an important truth related to this journey. According to the report, the mental health and emotional health of women during IVF treatment, i.e. their stress and anxiety levels, can affect its results. Women who were found to be less stressed were found to be more likely to be successful in IVF. This makes it clear that along with treatment, mental balance is also very important.
What came out in the study?
About 120 women were included in this study conducted in an IVF center in Pune. During this time their stress and anxiety levels were measured and then compared with the results of IVF. According to statistics, IVF was successful in about 40 percent of women. The average anxiety score of these women was 5.5, while the score of those whose IVF was not successful was found to be 6.7. Similarly, a difference was also seen in the stress score, where it was 7.4 in successful cases and reached 8.7 in unsuccessful cases. This clearly indicates that excessive stress can affect the results of treatment.

What is the opinion of experts?
Fertility experts say that stress is not only a mental problem, but it also has a direct impact on the body. According to doctors, prolonged stress increases cortisol hormone in the body, which can worsen the hormonal balance. According to Dr Richika Sahay Shukla of India IVF Fertility, many women undergoing IVF are not only physically tired but also mentally tired due to years of worry and repeated failures. This affects egg quality and can also affect the results of IVF. Experts also say that the process of IVF is emotionally challenging because women have to face uncertainty and sometimes failure. About 2.8 crore people in India are suffering from infertility, and about 3 to 3.5 lakh IVF treatments are performed every year.
Relationship between infertility and stress
Infertility is medically considered when pregnancy does not occur even after 12 months of regular and unprotected sex. According to the study, about 9 percent of couples are struggling with this problem. It is considered one of the biggest stressors of life, which can disturb people mentally. Problems like anxiety, sadness and excessive stress are often seen in people affected by this. Research has also revealed that taking care of mental health during IVF treatment is as important as medical treatment, because both together help in giving better results. According to Dr. Shukla, women who are given accurate information, reassurance and emotional support often show better results in treatment.
