Today (April 25) the first match of the double header will be played between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings in the afternoon. Delhi has got a big boost before the match. This boost gives Delhi, who seems to be in a bad situation, the power to win the match single-handedly. Actually, veteran Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has come to India for IPL 2026 and joined Delhi.

The franchise shared a video through social media, in which they shared the information about Stark’s arrival with the fans. The caption of the video read, “Worth the wait. Welcome back home Tiger.” However, it was not made clear from the franchise whether Starc will play against Punjab today or not.

Let us tell you that Starc could not be a part of Delhi at the beginning of the season due to shoulder and elbow injuries. The team has played 6 matches in the season, winning 3 and losing 3. Now it will be interesting to see how much Delhi benefits from the arrival of Starc.

11 crore 75 lakhs spent on stark

Starc was bought by Delhi for Rs 11 crore 75 lakh in the mega auction held for IPL 2025. After this the team retained Starc for the next season.

Mitchell Starc’s IPL career

Starc has played 52 matches in his IPL career so far. While bowling in 49 innings of these matches, he has taken 65 wickets at an average of 23.12, in which the best figure was 5/35. Apart from this, he has also won four wicket haul twice. Last season was very good for Starc. While playing for Delhi, he took 14 wickets in 10 innings of 11 matches.

Let us tell you that till now Starc has played for three teams. He started his IPL career in 2014 playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. After this, he joined Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024. Now part of Delhi Capitals.
