Gujarat Titans’ ace batsman Sai Sudarshan has made a special record of IPL. He has made a place in the list of batsmen who played the most number of balls in the powerplay of a single match. He created this rare record in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Almost 5 out of the first 6 overs were played by Sudarshan alone.

Sai Sudarshan alone faced 29 balls in the first 6 overs of the match against RCB. Gujarat had not lost a single wicket till the end of the power play. Sudarshan scored 46 runs playing 29 balls in the first 6 overs, while Shubman Gill faced the remaining 7 balls.

The record of playing the most balls in the powerplay of an IPL match is in the name of Mitchell Marsh, who played 30 balls in the powerplay in the match against Mumbai Indians in the 2025 season. Shikhar Dhawan has also faced 29 balls within the powerplay.
