Dilshan Madushanka made his IPL debut on Tuesday while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He took the first IPL wicket of his own compatriot Pathum Nissanka. Madushanka took 1 wicket for 36 runs in 4 overs. He took 5 wickets in a match against India in 2023, which also included the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Dilshan Madushanka was not bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the auction, rather he was included in the team as a replacement. He joined SRH for a sum of Rs 75 lakh as a replacement for Brayden Kars. Earlier, due to his excellent performance in international matches, he was bought by Mumbai Indians. MI bought him for Rs 4.60 crore in 2024, but then he was out of the league due to injury.

Dilshan Madushanka (Lokumarakkalage Dilshan Madushanka) was born on January 18, 2000 in Hambantota city of Sri Lanka. Left arm fast bowler Madushanka made his international debut for Sri Lanka in 2022.
Madushanka played her first T20 International match in 2022. He made his ODI debut on January 10, 2023, his first match was against Team India. In this he took one wicket. However, his best spell so far is against India only.

In this match played at Wankhede on November 2, 2023, he dismissed legendary batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer.

Talking about his IPL debut match on Tuesday, he was not included in the playing 11. Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first and scored a huge score of 242 runs. In bowling, Dilshan Madushanka was called as an impact player in place of Travis Head, and thus made his debut.
