New Delhi. There is bad news for the fans of Virat Kohli. The famous ‘One8 Commune’ restaurant in Bengaluru has been closed following court orders. The former captain of the Indian team was its co-owner. It is being told that due to non-payment of rent, the restaurant has an outstanding amount of more than Rs 2 crore. Kohli had already severed his ties with this outlet. Now had also removed its brand name. This restaurant is located near Chinaswami Stadium.

According to sources, after receiving notices regarding repeated violations of rules and lapses in fire safety in the last few years, Kohli had distanced himself from it. This restaurant, run by Trio Hills Hospitality, had not paid rent for almost six months. Apart from this, maintenance charges and revenue share were also outstanding. After this, the building owner approached the City Civil Court, from where an order was received that the restaurant will remain closed until all the dues are paid.

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had also issued notices to this restaurant several times for violation of rules. The restaurant suffered huge losses due to Kohli’s withdrawal from the brand and decline in the number of customers. As per the court’s instructions, the restaurant will remain closed until all the dues are paid.

In June last year, a case was also registered against this pub and restaurant under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act. There was no smoking zone designated here. Earlier, the Municipal Corporation had also issued a notice saying that the restaurant was running without necessary approvals, which also includes NOC from the fire department. Another case was also registered against other establishments, including One8 Commune, for operating after hours on MG Road. One8 Commune in Bengaluru was launched in December 2023.
