Tilak told about his strategy that he first assessed the pitch and focused on playing straight shots. He said, ‘Whenever Mumbai Indians come to Ahmedabad, we usually play on a black soil pitch, which is a little slow. It is not that our batsmen cannot play accordingly, but we know what we can do if there is too much bounce on the pitch. Tilak said, ‘The ball was coming slow and low, so we had to play accordingly and try to hit straight shots. The ball was not bouncing much, so it was risky to play ‘across the line’ on balls coming in line with the wicket. I decided to play a straight shot. I understood the situation well.

After this victory, Mumbai Indians have reached seventh position in the points table and Tilak is hopeful that his team will play well in future also. He said, ‘We should not think too far ahead and focus on one match at a time. For us, every match is almost like a knockout. Tilak said, ‘We know what we can do. There are many World Cup winning players in our team. If we implement our strategy well then no one can stop us. Therefore, it is important that we keep our focus on the game and keep working hard. Regarding his favorite batting position, Tilak said that he likes to bat at number three. He said, ‘I like batting at number three very much. However, I am ready to play wherever the team needs me. But if anyone asks, I will always choose number three.
