Sunrisers Hyderabad has included Gerald Coetzee in the team in place of David Paine for the remaining season of the Indian Premier League 2026. In this season, he played 2 matches for SRH and took 2 wickets. He had to be out of the entire season due to an ankle injury. Coetzee has played 4 Tests, 14 ODIs and 18 T20 international matches for South Africa and has 67 international wickets to his name. Before this, he has played 14 matches for Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians in IPL and has taken 15 wickets.

Coetzee was not sold in this year’s auction. Before this, he has played for Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans in IPL. Has taken 15 wickets in 14 matches. 25-year-old Coetzee was part of South Africa’s T20 World Cup team. He did not get a chance to play even a single match. After the event, he played all five T20 matches against New Zealand. Coetzee will join SRH for Rs 2 crore.
SRH has also got strength from the arrival of its captain Pat Cummins. He joined the team on Friday, 17 April and will be available for the match against Rajasthan Royals on 25 April. Currently the team is at fifth position in the points table and today (April 18) will face Chennai Super Kings.
