Vaibhav Suryavanshi was angry at being fielded as an impact player.

New Delhi. In the Indian Premier League 2026, when the bat of a batsman who made everyone his fan became silent, many hearts were broken. Whenever Vaibhav Suryavanshi is on the field, all eyes are on him. 15 year old Vaibhav is among the top scorers of IPL 2026. Till now he has scored half-century twice in 15 balls. In the first four matches of Rajasthan Royals, Suryavanshi played explosive innings and scored 52, 31, 39 and 78 runs. Suryavanshi returned without opening the account in the match against SRH on Monday.

In the last match, he played as an impact player and thrashed the bowlers badly. His role was the same against Sunrisers Hyderabad but this time he failed. Rajasthan Royals assistant coach Trevor Penny was asked about the decision to field Vaibhav Suryavanshi as an impact player. He said that this young player also wants to do fielding, but due to the team combination it was not possible to do so.

“In the last match, when he didn’t get on (fielding), he was not happy because he loves fielding. It’s not that he is a bad fielder. Donovan has passed his fitness test. He broke his collarbone in the SA20. He is a brilliant fielder. It’s good to see him back on the field. Sadly, Vaibhav had to sit out,” Penny said during the SRH vs RR match on Star Sports.

Talking about the match, Vidarbha’s Prafulla Hinge and Bihar’s Saqib Hussain broke the winning streak of Rajasthan Royals. RR team was reduced to 159 runs against SRH. SRH had scored 216/6 thanks to captain Ishan Kishan’s inning of 91 runs in 44 balls. With this win, RR’s four-match winning streak was broken and SRH got its second win after three losses. RR had to face its first defeat, but it is still on top in the points table.
